The West Berkeley Bungalow is a private, fully detached 1-bedroom + office ADU located on the grounds of our property. Unlike a room in a shared home or a unit in an apartment building, this is a standalone bungalow with its own entrance, its own front door, and no shared walls -- just your own quiet space to settle into. The bungalow features two rooms: a bedroom with a queen-size bed and a closet with hangers, and a second room set up as a dedicated home office with a proper desk and chair. The office also has a twin sofa bed and closet, making it a comfortable option for a second guest if needed. The kitchen is fully equipped with a stovetop, oven, microwave, kettle, refrigerator, and dishwasher, along with cookware, utensils, and tupperware for storing leftovers -- everything you need to cook a proper meal or keep things simple with takeout. The space is bright and airy, with south and west-facing windows that flood the rooms with natural light -- especially in the afternoons. The bungalow is furnished with pieces we've personally chosen and cared for over the years, and finished with longer stays in mind. We hope you'll feel at home here and treat it accordingly. A couple of things worth knowing: we live in the main house at the front of the property, so you may occasionally see us coming and going -- but the bungalow is fully private and we'll never intrude on your space. We're also located near train tracks, so you may hear a train pass from time to time. It's never bothered us, but if you're a light sleeper, we've left earplugs on the nightstand just in case.
